Tarragona’s low-emission zone<\/strong> is an area where the circulation of the most polluting vehicles is restricted<\/strong> in order to protect the atmosphere, human health, and the environment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The objective of the ZBE is to reduce environmental pollution and preserve and improve air quality and public health. It is part of the effort to reduce atmospheric pollutant emissions by 30% over 15 years, primarily nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and particulate matter (PM10). With the implementation of the ZBE, it is expected to reduce NOx<\/sub> and PM10<\/sub> emissions by 31% and 39%, respectively. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The most polluting vehicles, i.e. those not entitled to the DGT environmental label (0, Eco, C, and B), are not permitted to circulate within the Tarragona ZBE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

You can check your vehicle’s environmental sticker on the DGT website<\/a>. Enter the license plate to find out if you are affected by traffic restrictions for the Tarragona ZBE. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Wearing the badge is not mandatory<\/strong>, but it makes it easier to check in case of manual checks. Therefore, it is recommended to wear it. <\/p>\n

Drivers driving without a DGT sticker on their vehicle may be stopped by officers within the Tarragona ZBE. In these cases, officers will check the vehicle’s documentation and license plate, and verify whether it is subject to traffic restrictions. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

This is done automatically using cameras, which will compare the license plates with the DGT environmental label.<\/p>\n
